Sanitary drains require a few things to flow. Grade, adequate pipe sizing and of course airflow. If these things are not installed correctly, you will not achieve that dreamy Koalafied flow. There are many types of vents we plumbers are required to install across all ranges of projects. The most common sewer drain will have a main vent. It’s doing two things, letting air in when the line is flushed and also letting out bad sewer smells to the atmosphere to help the drain breathe and our plumbing flow smoothly.
